Summary

The team you'll be joining has the responsibility of establishing the Data Squad team within WalaPlus, as part of the Data Foundation team. The primary mission of this team is to construct a scalable data pipeline. This pipeline will be tasked with collecting data from various sources, including internal tools and third-party tools. It will also generate aggregated data layers to serve stakeholders across various WalaPlus teams, such as MDs, Marketing, Technical, and more. The team and its products play a pivotal role in propelling WalaPlus towards becoming a leading data-driven company. This transformation involves smart process automation and data-driven decision-making.

Our technology stack includes Python, R, Amazon RDS, Oracle, Snowflake, Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Zoho, Metabase, Datadog, and Gitlab.

What will you be doing?

• You will be responsible for implementing and continuously improving the team's ETL pipelines, ingesting data from the company's Data Lake, Data Warehouse or Streaming Platform (Kafka)
• You will construct and support deployment pipelines using different workflow orchestration tools (GitLab CI/CD, Airflow)
• You will work with the other engineers in the team to decide on and improve the data architecture and data pipelines powering the team's products
• You will work on sharing the team's data with other tech teams, e.g. via Aggregated Layer or APIs
• You will ensure that the team can monitor data quality and pipelines
• You will take part in continuous improvements and maintenance of our Data Warehouse and databases
• You will work with business and technology stakeholders to evaluate data sources, techniques, and tools for data-driven decision-making

You're a perfect match if you have

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Solid experience using Java, python, or similar programming language.
• Solid experience in SQL including queries, models, and table optimization
• Practical experience with the design and maintenance of data pipelines & and architecture with tools based on Cloud Computing Platforms, experience with AWS is a plus
• Experience with cloud Data Warehouses (e.g. Snowflake, etc.).
• Familiarity with the design and optimization of databases or data warehouses - including handling and logging errors, system monitoring, and experience with Datadog is a plus
• Comfortability working with queue systems like Kafka
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration, using e.g. Apache Airflow
• Familiarity with deployment tools, and experience with Kubernetes and Docker is a plus
• Comfortability with Automated Testing and CI/CD
• Good understanding of agile development practices
• Enjoy implementing and applying clean code principles or are into learning them
• Good communication, who can represent the team in technical and non-technical contexts
