Role Description
This is a part-time Hybrid role for a Technical Lead for software development of Electronic Medical Records (EMR). The Technical Lead will be responsible for overseeing and leading the software development team in the creation and maintenance of EMR systems Guide the overall technical design of the EMR system, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and compliant with healthcare standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR). They will also be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth software installation and integration. Some remote work is acceptable, but the role is primarily located in Cairo, Egypt.
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field: Fundamental for acquiring the necessary technical knowledge and analytical skills.
- Advanced Degree (Master’s or PhD) in a related field (optional): Beneficial for roles requiring deep technical expertise or research-oriented development work.
- Certifications in Software Development, Project Management, and Healthcare IT: Such as Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS), can demonstrate specialized skills and commitment to professional standards.
Technical Expertise
- Software Development: Proficient in software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall), programming languages (such as Java, C#, Python), and database management systems (SQL, NoSQL).
- Systems Architecture: Experience in designing complex software systems, with a deep understanding of architectural patterns, microservices, and scalable systems.
- Healthcare Technologies: Knowledge of healthcare standards (HL7, FHIR, DICOM) and regulations (HIPAA, GDPR for healthcare data) is crucial for developing compliant and interoperable healthcare software.
- Security and Privacy: Expertise in implementing security protocols, data encryption, and ensuring patient data privacy and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Integration: Experience with integrating various systems, such as EHRs, laboratory information systems (LIS), pharmacy management systems, and PACS, using standard healthcare interoperability protocols.
Healthcare Industry Knowledge
- Patient Safety and Quality Care: Commitment to developing software that enhances patient safety, improves care quality, and supports clinical decision-making in
